In direst need I did cry,
On my knees I did pray.
And the Voice said to me try,
Oh the birth of a new day.
Through storm clouds it did rain,
Thunder rumbling from on High.
Floods cascaded through my brain,
To escape my lips in a sigh.
And though the boat it did rock,
I did not plunge into the waves.
On my Savior's words I did lock,
Boasting now of how He saves.
